Bogale ‘Bo’ Giddings – Future X Games Gold
Bo is excited to be a member of the 2022-2023 NBS C Team. He is a member of the
NBS Western Region – Four Seasons West Ski Club. Bo was adopted from Ethiopia at the age of 3 and has been skiing and loving being on the slopes ever since. Bo has been skiing for 11 years. And he has been competing for 6 years.
Bo is a Freeski Breaker. Freeski combines the acrobatic tricks of freestyle with the big mountain terrain of normal ski resorts. Freeskiing includes twists, grabs, and flips while Bo makes his way down the ski slope.
He is currently in the Park City Ski and Snowboard program. Bo attends the Picabo Street Academy. In 1986 and at the age of 15, Picabo Street was named to the U.S. Ski Team and won many medals. She opened Picabo Street Academy 2016.
Bo participates in a Summer Dryland training program 3 days a week. He also trains at the Woodward on Trampoline and the water ramp at the Utah Olympic Training Park. Bo attended training camps at Mt Hood with Park City Ski and Snowboard.
In the words of Bo: My goal as an athlete is to compete in the X games, Olympics, and start my own ski equipment brand. My family just relocated to Park City, and the NBS OSF Scholarship will enable me to achieve my goal. I will be skiing 6 days a week with Park City Ski and Snowboard on their Park Team, while attending Picabo Street Academy year-round. Attending year-round school will allow me to complete my academics when I am not traveling or training. I would also to inspire diversity on the slopes for Freeski with my brand and enthusiasm.”

Bo’s top 3 results of sanctioned competition results are:
· 1st place Slopestyle 1/14/2022 Sunday River, Maine Mountain Series
· 6th place Freeski Boys 2/15/2022 Gore Mountain, North Creek, New York
· 1st place Slopestyle 3/13/2022 Sunday River, Maine Mountain Series
On 4/7/2022, Bo competed in the USASA Nationals at Copper Mountain and placed 37th
For the upcoming season, Bo’s three goals are to:
· Qualify in Slopestyle and Rail Jam for Nationals at Copper Mountain
· Land a Triple 14
· Ski new Mountain Parks around the world
Bo’s long-term goals are:
· Win X Games Gold
· Go to the Olympic Freeski and Big Air
· Develop and design his own Brand of Skis, clothing accessories for US Nationals and make the US Ski Team
