Leila Loriaux – Racing Down the Mountains

 

Leila is a member of the 2022-2023 NBS C Team. Leila is a member of the Slippers-N-Sliders Ski Club in the NBS Rocky Mountain Region. She is 12 years old.  She has been skiing for 11 years and competing for 5 years. She is a member of the Timberline Alpine Race Program (TARP).

 

During the 2021-2022 ski season, she trained from 2 up to 4 days a week. She attended the PV Alpine Camp for two weeks/12 days in at Timberline, OR and the Timberline Alpine Race Program (TARP) Camp for four weeks/20 days at Timberline, OR.

Leila is now a member of the USSA and will participate in some of their races this season.

 

For the upcoming 2022-2023 season, she wants to:

  • Obtain experience at the larger USSA/Youth Ski League races
  • Aim for the top 10 finishes in each race
  • Get more comfortable/aggressive using my new full length junior skis

 

At the age of 12, Leila’s long-term goals and what she wants to achieve in the sport are to:

  • Become a lifelong skier
  • Race in college and obtain a scholarship
  • Look at ski coaching
